Using Zoomify and HDView.
Both Zoomify and
HDView allow viewing of large high resolution images by only sending to
your computer the screen you are currently viewing. The entire image file is never sent to your computer. Zoomify
is used for normal (rectilinear) projections and HDView for Virtual
Reality (spherical) projections. When done viewing an image, use your browser Back button to select another image.
Zoomify
To zoom in,
click on the image. To pan around, drag the image, or drag the red box in
the image preview window located in the upper left hand window corner
of the main window. Transparent controls over the
bottom part of the image also zoom and pan. Keyboard controls - Shift key zooms in, Control key zooms out, and
arrow keys pan. Zoomify supports most operating systems
and browers and usually does not require installing any additional software.
